Steve Trent, Chief Executive Officer
Steve is a 1993 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School and is an attorney and shareholder at an AMLAW 100 law firm where he has practiced law since 1993. Steve has served on the Board of Directors and as a department chair at his firm. Steve and his wife Carol have also owned and operated several real estate investment LLC’s since 2010. The majority of Steve’s real estate businesses have involved single-family residential properties and apartments. Steve has bought and resold over 300 doors and currently owns over 150 doors. Steve has also acquired vacation rentals in the Myrtle Beach market and in the Smokies.

Chip Backus

President

Chip Backus, President
Chip Backus is a local physician and entrepreneur boarded in emergency medicine and addiction medicine. Chip attended medical school at Oklahoma State University and completed his residency at the University of Mississippi. He has been practicing emergency medicine in the Tri-Cities, TN area for nearly 20 years and is the medical review officer (MRO) for many businesses. In addition to medicine, his commitments focus on God, family, outdoor activities and community. Furthermore, while practicing in the Tri-Cities area, Chip has invested in five businesses locally, partnered in 2 fast food franchise locations, and rents multiple real estate sites (both commercial and residential). Additionally, Chip has founded and is partnered in two urgent care practices, started an investment and leadership foundation group, is part of the local angel roundtable investment group, has served as medical director for three ambulance services, and currently serves as medical director for 2 job corps campuses. Furthermore, Chip started a membership medicine program, is medical director for a troubled kids inpatient facility, is partnered in acquiring vacation rentals in Myrtle Beach and GSP, and contributes weekly to helping the cause of addiction in the Tri-Cities area through his facility. He hopes to continue his passion of helping others invest with him in future real estate ventures.

Andrew Trent

Andrew Trent, Chief Operating Officer
Andrew graduated from Lipscomb University in 2019 with a BBA in Finance and has since worked in Trent Property Company after co-founding it with his parents, Steve and Carol, in September 2019. Andrew’s experience includes full-time management of vacation rentals in Sevier County, TN and the Myrtle Beach, SC market; acquisition of long-term rental properties in Lake Charles, LA and research and development for future multifamily investments in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.

Maxx Boyd

Accounting & Compliance Officer

Maxx Boyd, Accounting & Compliance Officer
Maxx graduated from Lipscomb University in 2019 with a BBA in Accounting with a concentration in Finance. He has since worked for a year as an Auditor & Compliance Associate for Healthcare Realty, a healthcare real estate investment trust headquartered in Nashville, TN.
